Website development for SMEs

As a website builder for SMEs, I give every service a clear place. Choose 3-5 pages from €899 or 5-15 pages from €1,499, excluding VAT. We agree the structure, content and fixed price up front. You work directly with me.

For companies with several services, staff, and more pages than a sole trader needs. Structure has to be thought through, and so does who keeps the content up to date.

What sets the price

  • The number of services and whether each gets its own page.
  • Whether there are multiple locations or service areas.
  • Who writes the text and whether translations are needed.
  • Links to existing systems such as scheduling or administration.
  • Whether an existing site must be migrated with its addresses preserved.

Ongoing costs

  • Managed Hosting€10–€25/month
  • Domain Name€10–€15/year
  • Maintenance Standard€99/month
  • Maintenance Pro€149/month

All listed prices are starting prices, excluding VAT. The exact investment depends on your requirements, the scope and the functionality. After a short conversation you receive a tailored quote. I then build a proposal for your homepage first: if you do not like it, you pay nothing.

What you get

  • A page structure in which every service has its own place.
  • Navigation that still works when pages are added later.
  • Separate pages per service or location where that makes sense.
  • Contact routes that match how you work: form, phone, or both.
  • Clear agreements on who supplies and maintains which text.
  • Handover with a walkthrough for whoever will manage the site.

With several services the content question is usually bigger than the build question. We agree up front who writes what, so the project does not stall.

Business website or extended website: which package fits your company?

For SMEs I build two website packages. The business website from €899 has 3-5 pages and suits a company with a handful of services and one location. The extended website from €1,499 has 5-15 pages and is meant for companies that need a page per service, per location or per language. Both are starting prices, excluding VAT, fixed before I start. This is how to choose:

  • One or two services, one location, no second language: business website. Homepage, a page per service, about us and contact fit in 3-5 pages
  • Three or more services, several locations or service areas, a team page or work examples: extended website
  • Need Dutch and English? That is standard in the extended website; for the business website we add it as an option in the fixed price
  • If you also sell products online alongside your services, we look at a webshop from €2,499
  • Not sure? Send me your list of services and locations and I will tell you honestly which package fits and why

What makes an SME website different from a sole trader's site

A sole trader usually gets by with a homepage, a services page, an about page and contact. An SME has more services, more people and more kinds of customers. The structure of the site has to carry that, even when pages are added later.

  • A page of its own per service, so a customer searching for one service lands in the right place
  • Navigation that stays clear at ten or fifteen pages
  • Separate pages per location or service area where that makes sense
  • Contact routes that match how you work: form, phone, WhatsApp or a combination
  • A team page that shows who does the work
  • Bilingual (NL/EN) if you also serve English-speaking customers

Who builds your website, and what exactly do you get?

You are looking for a website builder for your SME and want to know who you will be dealing with. That is one developer: I design and build the site myself, from the first conversation to launch. No agency, no account manager and no handover between a designer and a developer. At launch you get this:

  • A custom-built website, built with Next.js and React and hosted on Vercel, not a theme or a website builder with a monthly subscription
  • All agreed pages, filled with the text and photos supplied, working on phone, tablet and desktop
  • A contact form that reaches you, plus the call and WhatsApp buttons that match how you work
  • Basic SEO: titles, descriptions and a page structure per service, so Google can find each service on its own
  • Google Analytics, so you can see where visitors come from and which pages produce enquiries
  • Ownership of the code, the design and the content, access to your own domain and hosting, and a walkthrough for whoever will manage the site

Who keeps the content up to date?

With several services the content question is usually bigger than the build question. That is why we agree at the intake who writes what and who manages the site after launch.

  • You supply text and photos, or we decide together who does that internally
  • I provide the structure and, per page, a list of what needs to be on it, which makes writing easier
  • After launch the person managing the site gets a walkthrough, so opening hours, team members or a new service can be changed in-house
  • Rather hand it off? With Standard maintenance (€99/month) I take over content updates

Moving an existing website over

Many SMEs already have a site, often on WordPress or a website builder. I move it over while preserving the addresses that bring in traffic today.

  • Pages that bring in visitors and enquiries today keep their address or get a redirect
  • Good text and photos come along, outdated content gets rewritten
  • Your domain name stays yours and we plan the switch so the site is never offline
  • Built with Next.js and React, hosted on Vercel, and you own the code, the design and the content

What happens after your enquiry

An enquiry is not a commitment. Within 24 hours you get a WhatsApp message from me with a few targeted questions about your services, your locations and who manages content. Then comes a structure proposal and a quote with a fixed price. If you agree, I build your homepage first: if you do not like it, you pay nothing. Only after your approval does the first invoice follow and do I build the rest of the site.

A business website example

Lens Marketing has a business website with a services overview. The example above shows how you can present your services and help visitors get in touch. We choose the structure that fits your services and customers.

Connecting your existing systems

Connections to scheduling, a CRM or accounting software are not included as standard in a website package. At the intake we discuss which system you use, what data needs to be exchanged and who can provide access. I list the work and any supplier fees separately in the quote, so it is clear what belongs to the website and what is additional work.

Not sure whether your company needs a business website or an extended one? Send me your list of services and I will tell you honestly which one fits.

How it works

  1. Intake: your services, your customers and who manages content internally.
  2. Structure proposal: which pages there will be and how they relate.
  3. Quote: scope and a fixed price in writing.
  4. Proposal: I build the homepage. If you do not like it, you pay nothing.
  5. Build and launch, with a walkthrough for whoever manages it.

Questions you probably have

What does an SME website cost?

A business website with 3-5 pages starts from €899, an extended website with 5-15 pages from €1,499, both excluding VAT. What drives the price: how many services get a page of their own, whether you have several locations, who writes the text and whether an existing site has to be migrated. After a short conversation you get a quote with a fixed price, and that price does not change during the build.

We offer several services. Does each service get its own page?

Yes, where it makes sense. A separate page per service means a customer searching for one specific service lands on the right page straight away, and each service can have its own contact route. Two or three services with a page of their own fit, alongside the homepage and contact page, in a business website from €899. With more services, or if you also want work examples and FAQs per service, you end up with an extended website from €1,499. The structure proposal shows you up front which pages there will be and how they relate.

Who keeps the text and photos up to date after launch?

We agree that up front, because on an SME site the content question is usually bigger than the build question. You supply the text and photos, or we decide together who does that internally. After launch I walk through the site with whoever will manage it, so opening hours, team members or a new service can be changed without me. If you would rather hand it off, I take it over with Standard maintenance (€99/month), which includes content updates.

We already have a website. Can it be moved over without losing our Google rankings?

That is what the migration is set up for. I first look at which pages on your current site bring in traffic and enquiries. Those addresses stay in place or redirect to the new page, so Google and existing links never land on an error page. Text and photos that still hold up come along; what is outdated gets rewritten. Your domain name stays yours and we plan the switch for a quiet moment, so your site is never offline.

We have several locations or service areas. How does that work on the website?

Each location gets its own page with address, opening hours, phone number and directions, so customers in that town find you when they search for your service plus the place name. If you work from one base across several regions, we do the same per service area. For each location I put the right business details in the code, so Google ties them to the right address. The number of locations counts towards the price and is set out in the quote up front.

How long does it take before our website is live?

A business website with 3-5 pages is usually live within 1-2 weeks. An extended website with 5-15 pages takes 2-4 weeks, depending on how quickly the text and photos come in and whether an existing site has to be migrated. What slows a project down most is content sitting on several desks. That is why we agree at the intake who delivers what, and when. The quote comes with a schedule based on that.

What about hosting, the domain and costs after launch?

I host the site for you on Vercel at €10-€25 per month, including SSL, backups and monitoring. A domain name costs €10-€15 per year. You own the code, the design and the content. Maintenance is optional: Basic at €49/month for security updates, backups and monitoring, Standard at €99/month adds content updates, Pro at €149/month adds continuous optimisation. If you prefer to manage the site yourself, that is fine too. After launch I stay reachable for questions.
